All about Betony
Betony (stachys officinalis) is an interesting perennial which grows between 2-3 feet with spikes of pink/purple flowers which bloom in mid summer. Betony tastes like black tea but contains no caffeine. It is also said to relieve tension headaches and contains tannins that ease throat irrations and diarrhea. Be careful not to use too often, as it can irritate the stomach. Choose betony for it's ornamental properties. It makes a attractive border to your herb garden. Betony prefers partial shade but will tolerate full sun.
